Interesting and thought provoking essay. I enjoyed it. However...

I think this sums it up in a nutshell. We've fallen into this habit of over-rationalising everything into oblivion. We think so hard that we can no longer believe in anything.
But free will is not a myth. It might be swayed here or there by various prior beliefs and experiences, but in that final moment between decision and action, *I choose* to act. That's a fact of pure experience. Reason has no say in the matter.
I'm going to exert my free will right now by liking this post.
